The MSA Presents: Proofs of Islam

Course Description: The Muslim Students’ Association (MSA) Presents the workshop: Proofs of Islam, a workshop series that will introduce a multidisciplinary approach to discussing proofs of Gods existence, Prophethood and Divine Origin of the Qur’an. Students will be exposed to how various disciplines (comparative religion, history, philosophy, science) have been used to discuss the veracity of Islam. The course will cover the following topics:

1. Proof of Allah’s existence
2. Proofs of Prophethood the Prophet (SAW)
3. Proofs of Qur’an’s Divine Origin

About the Instructor: Faisal has a BA in Religion from Concordia University, MA in Near/Middle Eastern Civilizations from University of Toronto and a Diploma in Arabic from International Open University. Along with his academic studies he has studied privately with various Islamic scholars for over a decade. His interests include topics such as tafsir, tazkiyah, Islamic psychology, colonialism and Islamic education. He is author of All That We Lost: The Colonized Mind and the Decline of the Islamic Education System (Yaqeen Institute) & author of the book Trials & Tribulations: an Islamic Perspective (Ta-ha publishers).

Location: SSMU University Centre (in-person) Room 202

Required Materials: No required material, the instructor will give some suggested reading but that will be for students who are interested to research further after the course.

Required Knowledge: No prior knowledge is needed or expected and the entire course can be finished across 4 hours – so 1 hour session each week.
