Course Description: This course will cover from the basics of starting up a professional linear video editing program for the first time and creating a project, to manipulating a video, syncing and keyframing, adding graphics, titles, and effects, colour correction and audio editing, to ultimately exporting the video. This course will also teach you some new skills for how to best use the camera you have or to direct a shoot. Once you know how to use your computer and camera effectively, you will jump at the opportunity to show what you can do. This course is for any level of video editing, from the most basic beginners, to burgeoning YouTube stars and aspiring filmmakers
About the Instructor: A self-taught expert in the Adobe Suite with almost 10 years of experience, Brytan is a U3 Poli Sci student originally from Kingston, ON, now living in Bristow, VA. Starting out filming snowboarding and underground music clubs, Brytan has brought his skills to the educational field. As a Co-Producer of the Colgate Virtual Galapagos Project, Brytan became one of the first individuals to film the Galapagos Islands in VR as part of a groundbreaking educational virtual reality experience with Colgate University. He has also served as a design contributor on NSF-funded projects through Colgate. Brytan also has extensive experience having worked with athletes and the Emmy-award winning GoPro editing team on location in Whistler, BC. Brytan plans to work further in experimental and emerging interactive media.
