Course Description: Learn the fundamentals of AutoCAD: the industry-leading computer-aided design (CAD) software! Develop professional skills and techniques needed to produce high quality 2D and 3D designs through hands on exercises that explore various techniques and drawing commands. This course is designed to be an introduction to computer aided design through the use of AutoCAD software. Topics covered include general setup of model space; layer management, basic drawing commands, advanced commands, dimensions and text, page setup and plotting, and creating blocks. Time permitting topics could include templates and 3D design. Emphasis will be placed on how to work with AutoCAD efficiently throughout the course.

About the Instructor: Ben has been working with AutoCAD since 2010/2011 while obtaining his civil engineering technologist diploma. He continued to work with AutoCAD after college in his role as an assistant project coordinator. In 2013, he returned to university to finish his structural engineering degree where he used AutoCAD intermittently for various projects. In 2017, Ben started working for PERI Formwork Systems as a designer using AutoCAD in his day-to-day life for work and personal use. Today, Ben still works for PERI Formwork Systems as the Technical Training Specialist for Canada. He continues to use AutoCAD intermittently for work and personal projects.
