Course Description: Have you ever watched the Matrix movie and wondered if you could code like that one day? Well, wonder no more. This course is just for you! Java is one of the most popular languages used in the industry. In this course, you will learn the basic concepts of programming and computer science. At the end of this course, you will be able to write programs in Java and execute them yourself. This course is aimed for beginners who have no prior experience in coding. Every class, new concepts will be introduced and simple programs will be coded to implement those concepts. Mini assignments will be given every week to get a better grasp of the concepts taught in class. After this course, you will be able to take the knowledge you learnt in this class and apply it to further deepen your understanding in Java and other programming languages in general.
About the Instructor: Afreen Aliya is completing her last year at McGill in Computer Engineering. Java was the first programming language she learnt and ever since, she has been very passionate about programming. She has over 4 years of experience working in Java and has worked in the industry that has given her a good insight about the applications of Java in real life.
