Course Description: This mini-course aims to teach the tips and tricks of knitting so participants can develop the tools to become crafty and savvy knitters. This course is geared to all levels, from complete beginners to folks who already know what’s up in the fibre world. Some of these skills include the very basics like casting on, essential stitches, reading charts and patterns, and finding materials on a budget. The course would be structured around a few projects, and folks will participate in the full sweep of project-planning: from selecting a pattern and materials, to step-by-step instructions in the creation of a knitting project. This course would also point participants to free resources where they can continue to develop their technical knitting skills, find patterns, and unleash their creativity with future projects.

About the Instructor: Trina Padulo has been knitting since she was a teen. She has also taught knitting to various groups over the years including seniors at the Montreal Association for the Blind. Trina began teaching herself through simple projects, and is now able to do things with cables, diagrams, pictures and other complicated knitting techniques. Knitting is a great hobby to learn, making gifting more personal and fun! It is also extremely therapeutic and relaxing.
